Instrumental, trancy, a blend of organic and electronic sounds - it's like finding a highly advanced, technical society in the middle of the jungle somewhere. The album seemed on the verge of turning into a jungle/techno mix, with that incessantly papping snare on the two. But that's only the first two tracks. By the third track the album leans back and takes you on a mellow, smooth ride. If someone was making a movie about me, during the part when I was painting a masterpiece, this is the track they would use to score that scene, but I digress. I learn that not the entire album is instrumental; a singer sprinkles his voice here and there as the album continues. I so wanted to love this album, but now I so want to hate it, but it's weird, 'cause I don't. Worth checking out. - Vapors |
