MH-241 Nobody & Mystic Chords Of Memory - Tree Colored See  Tree Colored See is a collaborative effort between Nobody (Elvin Estella) and Mystic Chords Of Memory (Chris Gunst and Jen Cohen). Building off of successful guest appearances on each other's past releases, the trio began collaborating on the project in the spring of 2004. After a year-plus of road trips and mail-order production efforts, the result is a perfectly crafted blend of psychedelic hip-hop and sunshine folk-rock. Nobody proves himself a producer/arranger in the classical sense, using his sample-based tool set to create the foundations for the album. Chris Gunst continues to mature as a songwriter and along with partner Jen Cohen, adds wistful vocals and accomplished musicianship to each song. For those who have followed any of these artists throughout the courses of their respective careers, this album proves to bring out the best in each of the participants. |

| Mystic Chords of Memory are Chris Gunst, ex-Beachwood Sparks, and Jennifer Cohen from the Aisler’s Set who have paired with ‘Nobody’ aka Elvin Estela to produce more dreamy West Coast psychedelia. If you’ve heard the first Mystics album, you’ll know the deal: ‘Broaden A New Sound’ is pastoral folk-psych, like an impressionist painter’s fantasy of bodies at rest in some sun-dappled leafy clearing, caressed by the warm wash of electric piano and Chris Gunst’s aching vocals. It should come with a warning not to drive or operate heavy machinery while listening to it! It’s accompanied by versions of songs from the Nobody and Mystic Chords of Memory album by Devendra Banhart (the hazy ‘La Semilla’) and the Long Lost, while DNTEL offers a remix of ‘Feet Upon The Sand’ that will go down a treat with anyone who likes the Postal Service.
