The wait is finally over. Brothertiger’s first full-length LP, Golden Years, is set for release March 27, 2012. If the rest of the tracks live up to the single “Lovers” then we’re all in for a treat.
Toledo, OH born John Jagos is the mastermind behind Brothertiger, providing all vocals, synths, and electronics himself. Jagos began making music in his freshman year at Ohio University. While Brothertiger fits into the genres of nu disco, glow-fi, and chillwave, Jagos sets himself apart by providing a perfectly balanced harmony of both electronics and melodies that give Brothertiger its unique sound. “Lovers” opens with an up-tempo beat that calls back to '70s era disco, followed by a distant and slightly distorted vocal by Jagos. With lyrics like, "there's nothing wrong with me/can't you see it's gonna be alright?" how can we not be content to kick back and agree with Brothertiger's simple sentiment? - In your Speakers |
