MH-093 Steffaloo + Chrome Sparks - Eyes For You  Steffaloo teams up with Chrome Sparks for "Eyes For You" - the first single from her first electronic album, Heart Beats. There is great anticipation for the pairing after the success of their last collaboration, the widely praised "All There Is" which hit #1 on Hype Machine in 2012. The pitch-perfect track does not disappoint. With a nod to Giorgio Moroder, Chrome Sparks uses arpeggiated Italo Disco synths and locked-in four-on-the-floor drums to surround a lovely pop vocal from Steffaloo. The single is bolstered by two remixes. Niva's remix transitions from a vocal breakdown to a dancefloor ready groove and Brothertiger emphesizes the sulty side of the track with thick pads and a classic break. "Eyes For You" is a sublime pairing of talent and one the finest tracks in either Steffaloo or Chrome Spark's growing catalog. |

| Los Angeles’ Steph Thompson, aka Steffaloo, is, like a versatile cheese, something of a collaboration machine, having previously worked with the dreamy likes of Sun Glitters, Teen Daze and Blackbird Blackbird. Her second pairing with producer Chrome Sparks plays the waiting game, but patient souls are richly rewarded around one minute thirty. Suddenly it’s like a switch has been flipped and you’re transported to a heaving (possibly underwater) dancefloor moving as one in rapture to Sparks’ soft, determined beats, making eyes at hot mermaid/merman patrons, sipping squid-ink cocktails. - Snipe |
