2001 model cLOUDDEAD: muddy, looped, often-pretty instrumentals, shambling unpredictable structures plus vox. 2004 model: High fidelity! Songs! Shocked? Yes. At least mildly. "Dead Dogs Two" is a catchy pop song. Vocal harmonies, verses, choruses. I never expected to be using these terms in relation to a cLOUDDEAD track, but they're definitely applicable. Little twinkly sounds, fast crisp two-step beat, counter-punctual bass throbs and the closest thing to rapping here, swiftly followed by another round of the chorus. - Independent Voice |
