Manchester cut ‘n’ paster James Rultledge (aka Pedro) reckons the entire second album You, Me & Everyone came to him in a dream. An unlikely story, sure. But wait until you cast your ears over the record. This is wonderful, crazy stuff. Deft instrumental melodies and multicultural folk shatter into psychedelic, free jazz wig-outs, intricate hip hop-flavoured beats and stunning, searing flashes of cacophony. Think of The Avalanches, Caribou, Fourtet, Prefuse and Animal Collective. A surreal and boundlessly eclectic effort. - MAG |
