The first time I listened to this album, Ill have to admit I was kind of lost. You have what you may term abstract hip-hop which I still don't know what falls in that category, but I can honestly say that this album doesn't fit any categories or sound like anything you've heard in awhile, if ever. After studying the lyrics and taking the time to really get into the album, it got better and better with each listen. First off, its hard to catch everything that's being said because Busdriver and Radioinactive spit so fast. The combination of upbeat rhythms, vocal samples, and creative lyrics makes this an album that not everyone will appreciate, but its not the slice-and bake hip-hop that we've all become so accustomed to. For example, you cant listen to this album just once and catch everything. You're gonna have to actually read the lyrics, hit the rewind button, and actually think. While its not perfect, it definitely is a nice album that breaks up the monotony of the hip-hop that's become so popular now. - Hip-Hop Game |
