|MH-082 Brothertiger - Reach It All
Brothertiger wraps up a great year with the single "Reach It All". The song, which is taken from his album, Golden Years, is joined by remixes from Germany Germany, Digits and RLMDL. With a syncopated bassline, swirling keys, and reverb effected vocals, the original mix is a perfect eighties throwback. RLMDL takes the track in more left-field direction with an off-kilter beat and a burried indie guitar line. Digits goes straight for the dancefloor with synth works that sounds as if it could be from a long lost New Order track. Germany Germany adds some bounce to the beat as he brings the synths front and center. The "Reach It All' single has a version of the track perfect for all electro-pop needs.
|Germany Germany took a pop-house approach with their remix of Brothertiger's "Reach It All." The remix's lighter, more palatable sound encourages listeners to keep their headphones on and at full blast - In Your Speakers / Brothertiger is wrapping up a fantastic 2012 - Static
|John Jago is the one man electronic band behind Brothertiger. His original version of “Reach It All” displays his chillwave roots and pop sensibility. But with Digit‘s version, the track comes to the dance floor; a hybrid of animalistic beats and human emotion, filling out the true intent of Jago’s musical namesake.
As the intro pulses, I’m quickly reminded of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own.” Although the resemblance fades thereafter it’s an obvious foreshadowing of an 80s influenced pop number requiring a house party and some quality speakers.
