pOnk is Berlin based musician and producer Frederik Knop, who also plays in the post-rock band mOck. While mOck was mixing their album with John McEntire (Tortoise, Sea and Cake), the individual recorded tracks from that session became the source for this pOnk project. Remaking The Past is not a remix of mOck’s album, but more of taking the sounds from that session and creating something wholly new and original. The two-parts and 12 minutes of music on Remaking The Past are nearly unrecognizable to what was played on the mOck album. It’s quite interesting to see two completely different outcomes from the same session. The best way to look at this EP is to treat it as a companion to the mOck album, a little extra hot fudge to mOck’s ice cream sundae if you will. - Manual Dexterity |
