Canadian-based producer Luke Loseth (a.k.a. Felix Green) and his sister Charlotte Loseth (a.k.a. Sea Oleena) have teamed up on a new project under the name Holobody. Sales and downloads of the forthcoming debut album have been put on hold until the official release set for April 10, but we’ve got our hands on a sneak peak of the soothing indie ballad “Riverbed.”
The track is vocally based, providing lovely male/female harmonization. If you’re in the mood for something trancy and calming, it makes for a nice quiet listen. It is not, however, lyrically complex and can become a bit repetitive. The duo has collaborated on projects in the past and their synchronization and musical talent give substance to the track, like a tamer version of Blonde Redhead.
“Riverbed” is only one component of Riverhood, a complex album that represents elements of gospel, folk, hip-hop, and electronic influences, making it an incredibly interesting listening experience, if not a completely coherent one. - In Your Speakers |
