4 Bonjour's Parties is a septet of multi-instrumentalists from Tokyo. Authors of several self-produced EPs, 4 Bonjour's Parties has just dropped their first album "Pigments Drift Down To The Brook", a disc completely shifted... a wonder of pop dream phantasmagora which makes good in this heart of the winter greyness. Recorded in an orchestral mode, with great reinforcement of cords, coppers and keyboards (not less than thirty different instruments were used), the ten titles of "Pigments Drift Down To The Book" are the fruit of the writing of fine melodists. Bathed in soft and ethereal environments, accentuated by the alternating female vocals with the male vocals, this pop delicacy luminously plunges its roots in the heart of the "candy" of the Sixties. It borrows also from the progressive scene of the 70's in particular its sophisticated structures and its arrangements. With these inspirations "vintage" 4 Bonjour's Parties combines modern electronics which meld surprisingly well with the symphonic orchestrations. With this first well tied up album, 4 Bonjour's Parties succeeds in stimulating the imagination of the listener, pushing them to dream and finally to bewitchment thanks to its vaporous mixture of tradition and modernity. It is a so rare thing nowadays that it deserves to be underlined. A warmly recommended disc. - INDE-ssence |
