This is dreamy, cathartic, cosmic-electro pop at its best. It deserves more than words, really. I feel like I should be romantically humming this review. Marc Bianchi (the man behind Her Space Holiday) presents us with ethereal strings, hushed guitars, and broken-hearted drum sounds that will tug at your gut instinct. Oh, and did I forget to tell you he sings poetry? His words will serenade you during one of those whimsical afternoons when all you feel like doing is sitting back idealizing love lost, lost jobs, and you feeling lost. Honestly, every song on this album is incredible, but "Sleepy California," "Japanese Gum," and "The Luxury of Loneliness" are perfection. After listening to The Young Machines, Marc Bianchi is SO my baby-daddy. - Jointz |
