"Devil In The Dark" is the lead single from Memory Guide, the new album from City Light. The original mix is pop-perfection. Singer/songwriter Matt Shaw's pristine vocals and the electro-pop production of Nick Andre remind of contemporaries like The Flaming Lips and The Postal Service without ever sounding derivative. The single includes a handful of top-quality remixes. Andy Fitts takes the vocals from "Devil In The Dark" and embeds them in a track that highlights the darker elements of the melody with production that hints at The Cure's Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me era. Long time band collaborator Her Space Holiday transforms album track "Wrecking Ball" with the strings and electronic technique he used for his album, The Young Machines. Finally, Ayumu Haitani of the Japanese indie-pop band, 4 Bonjour's Parties tackles "Rewind Replay Repeat" in a remix that ebbs and flows through changes that surprise just as you think the track has ended.
