The Canadian sibling duo Holobody are about to release their debut album, Riverhood. I enjoy the first track "Unfold" a lot. Their sound is hard to define neatly. This particular track has a warm, ambient electronic vibe to it. Layering voice is clearly important to Holobody's sound as well. I know their folk and gospel colors show throughout the album as well: I especially love the cover of the excellent spiritual hymn "Down to the River to Pray," which gradually tweaks and even deconstructs a straightforward performance in an interesting way. - Those Who Dig |
