Brothertiger has completed his first video for his upcoming album, Golden Years. The Kiki Allgeier directed video for "Lovers" features two lip singing models, leotards, and a look that perfectly captures the 80s synthpop that will put Brothertiger on a short list of the acts to break in 2012.
We could not be more excited about the amazing Brothertiger music we have lined up for 2012. His debut full-length Golden Years will be released on March 27. It will be preceided by singles for the tracks "Lovers" and "I've Been Waiting" along with videos and some of the best remixes we have ever had on Mush. We are also thrilled that Impartment has decided to license Golden Years for a domestic Japanese release. This will mean extra promotion and exposure for Brothertiger in a country that should fall in love with his music. 2012 should be the year that Brothertiger makes his mark on the music scene worldwide.
A Lull is gearing up for their early 2012 tour with Delete Scenes. Too keep the great 2011 buzz they have going, the band has released a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm On Fire". As you would guess, it's a pretty big jump from the original, but shows off what a great songwriter the Boss is. Check out the cover on the site Perfect Porridge.
A Lull have made a huge mark in 2011 with their impressive live show. If you haven't cvaught them yet, early 2012 will give you the next chance when A Lull hits the road with Deleted Scenes.
"Lovers" from Brothertiger's upcoming debut, Golden Years is being remixed by Jesse Ruins, Casa Del Mirto and Avec Avec. Look for the single and a video from director Kiki Allgeier before the end of the year.
At the end of October, A Lull returned home to Chicago like conquering heroes. The week prior, they played several shows at CMJ in New York. They were hailed as a band to watch by NPR and The New York Times before the festival began, and by the time A Lull left, their praise had grown exponentially. Epitonic caught A Lull before they hit the road again for a six-song session that gives everyone who has not had the chance to catch them live yet an idea of what they are missing.
In early 2012, as a lead up to their debut full-length, Command V will be releasing singles for "Lost On Me" and "Hello". The remixing line-up is already impressive and growing by the day. Optimo, Max Pask, Phil Kieran, Liquid Liquid's Sal P and more rolling in each day.

Drew Bandos has recently put together a live incarnation for his act, Is And Of The. All accounts are that their show is a huge wall of sound that is as impressive as it is loud. If you are in the DC/Baltimore/Philidelphia area, he has two shows coming up: supporting The Album Leaf at The Rock And Roll Hotel and sharing the stage with Cuddle Magic at Johnny Brenda's.
Pregnant has completed another video, this time with help from his UK label Ice Capades and director David Bailey, who captures the feel of the track "Dog" perfectly. If you haven't already done so, be sure to check out Pregnant's latest, Life Hard : I Try, which is streaming now.
Open Mike Eagle has been on a roll lately with his amazing new record Rappers Will Die Of Natural Causes, and a string of performances that show off his great state presense. He is hitting the road this fall with Los Angeles rapper Blu (who appears on the upcoming 7" release for Mush with DJ Gman) for the Natural Selection Tour. As always, the best place to get all the latest on Mike Eagle is his website. He is constatly adding unreleased remixes, one-off shows, and other info.
If you are in NYC for CMJ, A Lull have three performances. First up is Pianos on the 18th, then the Delancy on the 19th and finally the Flower Booking Showcase on the 21st at the Knitting Factory. NPR has a write up of bands not to miss at CMJ, and we could not be more thrilled that A Lull made the list. They are also adding other fall shows including stops in Minneapolis and their hometown Chicago, which can be found on the Mush Shows page.
Command V, a group consisting of Cynthia Sley (of The Bush Tetras), Pat Irwin (of 8-Eyed Spy, The Raybeats and The B-52s) and Rachel Dengiz (a filmmaker who has worked with Jim Jarmusch and Steve Buscemi) will be releasing their debut full-length on Mush in 2012. The live incarnation of the band also features Sara Lee (Gang Of Four) and Zach Alford (David Bowie). The album sounds both completely fresh and a throwback to the post-punk leaning of early 80s NYC. We are thrilled to be releasing this album.
A big thank you to Baeble music for premiering the new video by Pregnant. The video for "Letter To A Friend" is directed by Sean Stout of Terroreyes.tv who according to the Baeble feature "enlists an elder recluse to wander the woods, providing a few disturbing images (bloodied photographs) as to why he's where he is. Like the not so straightforward soundtrack accompanying it, the story takes a variety of bends in unexpected ways; as warped a video as its' subjects' mind, no doubt." Pregnat has had a great run on the road, and even found time in his mid-west travels to record a Daytrotter Session and out in California record a Dublab session. Look for both of those liver perfomances to be posted soon.
Austin's Cody Wilson, better known as Corduroi has been making quite a name for himself in electronic music over the past few months. We're thrilled to announce that he will be releasing music for Mush starting with two EPs before the end of the year: Anything For Now and Unease. Check out some of his previous press on Nightdrive, Guerolito Music and Aisu Kurimu and his fantasic video for "All Ways" from Anything For Now. The video was directed by Color Chart and was recently featured by Vimeo as a staff pick.

Jealov continue to apply the same mysterious techniques of warping art that they use on their music to their music videos. In their first video for ""unable//UNABLE" it was the movie Black Sun by Gary Tarn. For their two new vidos they use Sombre by Philippe Grandrieux for "Blakk Sun" and "DCW" incorporates some NSFW footage from Fuses by Carolee Schneemann.
Thavius Beck is heading back to Europe for a string of dates that will take him throughout western Europe from Spain all the way to Greece. Be sure to catch him when he is in your city.

Deru's last album Say Goodbye To Useless is still going strong. To continue the momentum, he's just completed an amazing video with the help of director Sofia Garza-Barba for the track "Fadeawy."
For those who haven't heard, the up-coming, self-titled full-length from Her Space Holiday will be the last release from Marc Bianchi under this moniker. While we will be adding all of the glowing press he is getting in a catch-all news item after his release hits the store shelves, the feature and accomonying video from Her Space Holiday on Austin Town Hall was too good to wait.
