Boy In Static Video On DVD07/2007IdN Magazine has released the clip for Boy In Static's "Where It Ends" on DVD in a free giveaway with their latest issue. The magazine, published in Hong Kong, is a highly collectable item.

Caural Spends Nights With Lodown07/2007Caural recently graced the pages of Germany's Lodown Magazine, a great European journal of art and music. Lodown's Renko Hauer spent some time discussing some of Caural's old musical cohorts with him in the piece, entitled "Bogie Nights."

 
Loden Profiled In Chord07/2007Dominic Umile, a Mush supporter for years, recently took some time to write a delightful profile on Loden. The piece is a discussion of what went in to the creation of his debut LP Valeen Hope, and how difficult putting an album together can be.

Lymbyc Systym Song Of The Day On KEXP06/2007Lymbyc Systym's "Love Your Abuser" from the album of the same name was selected as KEXP's Song Of The Day for June 19. They also have made available the podcast of Lymbyc Sysytym's performance at KEXP from April 25. There's also a great slideshow of photos from the in-studio session.

Antimc Licensed For Circle BMX Video06/2007Europe's premier BMX Video Magazine, Circle BMX, has licensed "Ten Days Out" by Antimc through Antimc's European home KFM Records, for their latest DVD, Circle BMX Vol. 2.

Boy In Static Takes To The Air In Belgium06/2007Boy In Static was recently featured on Belgium's Radio 1, aired June 4th on the Cucamonga episode. A full and informative interview accompanied by a host of tracks off the Violet album.

Boy In Static On CMJ, Covers CD06/2007Boy In Static was recently featured on CMJ.com for his part in a special project put together by some of Boston's brightest new talent Bon Savants, Hooray For Earth, and Aberdeen City. The four acts have put together a CD of covers by earlier Boston area greats, like Sebadoh and The Cars, to be sold exclusively at a local show. The performance will take place on June 8th. Proceeds from both the event and the CD will go toward the Boston Children's Hospital. Also, check out Boy In Static's cover of Sebadoh's "Skull."
Busdriver Touring With CSS06/2007Busdriver is about to embark on a short stint of US/Canadian dates 0supporting Brazilian dance-punk-wunderkinds CSS. We've added this tour to our shows page.

 
Boy In Static Japan License, Single05/2007To commemorate the licensing of Boy In Static's Violet by Japan's & Records, the label asked Alex Chen to put together some remixes of the lead single, Where It Ends to add as bonus material for the CD. The results were breathtaking reworks of the original by Helios, Her Space Holiday, and Future Bible Heroes - a side project of the Magnetic Fields' Stephen Merritt and ex-Figures On A Beach member Chris Ewen. Mush Records has secured the rights to release the remixes in the United States, and will package them with a shortened single mix of the album version for release this Fall.

S.E.V.A. Show Review In LA Times05/2007Natalie Nichols from the Los Angeles Times was at the Disney Concert Hall for the Pravda event, a DJ showcase that was part of the LA Philharmonic's Shadows Of Stalin series. She wrote a review of the event, A Proletarian Mashup At Disney Hall; and had some great things to say about Mush Records' own S.E.V.A.'s set.

Lymbyc Systym Dates With The Album Leaf, Eliot Lipp, And More05/2007After a short break in early May, Lymbyc Systym are heading back out on the road in support of Love Your Abuser. They'll be once again opening on several dates for the Album Leaf, and also doing a string of dates with Eliot Lipp in the Midwest after the AL tour, and a bunch of shows around the southeastern United States. Antimc Live On Hunnypot Radio05/2007The DJs at Hunnypot Radio have been playing songs off Antimc's album It's Free, But It's Not Cheap, for some time now. They've invited him to come down to the show and play a live set on May 21, which will be broadcast for the next two weeks on their site. Tune in online and check out the Antimc live set.

Caural, K-The-I???, And Antimc Reviews In05/2007Press for Mush Record's final releases of 2006 have been released, and we've received a plethora of great reviews for Caural's Mirrors For Eyes, K-The-I???'s debut Broken Love Letter, and Antimc's solo debut It's Free, But It's Not Cheap. Thanks to all of the writers who critiqued and praised these artists.

Lymbyc Systym Song Of The Day On KEXP04/2007"Love Your Abuser," the title track from Lymbyc Systym's Mush Records debut will be the featured song of the day for April 25 on Seattle's KEXP, one of the largest indie stations in the country. Along with the song, there is a small feature on the band and their album on the KEXP website.
Busdriver Touring With CocoRosie04/2007Busdriver is taking Caural on the road and opening a string of 15 dates for dreamy-pop duo CocoRosie. If you haven't seen Busdriver yet this year, make sure you do, his performance at Coachella was indicative of his increasingly impressive live performances.

Qua In R&D04/2007Check out the interview "Questions With Qua" on Australian experimental music website Research & Development. Along with the interview, they have included a recording of a Qua live set and his lecture to the Red Bull Music Academy.
Thavius Beck Remixes Nine Inch Nails04/2007Thavius Beck has been making some important moves lately, collaborating with Trent Reznor and Saul Williams. One of the products of that teaming up is the "Tardusted Remix" of NIN's latest single, "Survivalism." The track is available for play on Thavius' Myspace page, and as part of the "Survivalism" CD single which is available April 2 throughout Europe, and will be included on the "Survivalism" 9" (that's right, 9") single, available in the UK on April 9. The UK single will also feature a Saul Williams and Thavius Beck remix called the "OpalHeartClinic Remix." The remixes will be available in the United States from iTunes with download of the new NIN album Year Zero.

 
New Lymbyc Systym Tour Dates04/2007Lymbyc Systym are heading back out on the road this month for over a dozen dates in support of their Mush Records debut full-length, Love Your Abuser. This stint will see them playing mostly on the West Coast, and supporting the Album Leaf in the southwest, before they head out on a full Album LEaf tour later this month. There will be a couple of special performances: an in-store at San Francisco's Amoeba Music, and a live in-studio session at Seattle's KEXP. We've added these dates to our shows page.

 
Busdriver Press Adds04/2007Congratulations to Busdriver on the release of his Anti-/Epitaph debut full-length, Roadkill Over Coat. Antimc And Caural In Germany's Goon04/2007Goon Magazine, which describes itself as a German equivalent of England's Wire, has recently shown Mush artists some love on their site. First, a feature on Antimc, who continues to land fantatsic press for his debut album; then, some wonderful coverage of Caural in the Epiphany Outlet section, alongside the Mars Volta, Dr. Octagon, and more. Thanks to the folks at Goon, we're always excited when we get overseas press.

Mush Records SXSW CD Give Away03/2007If you happen to see any of the Mush artists walking around Austin the week of SXSW, ask them for a FREE CD Card. The first 200 people to present this card at the Mush SXSW showcase will receive 2 FREE CDs (we will have 4 or 5 titles to choose from).
Opening acts (Zeale 32 from Austin and Perseph1 from Houston) will be on stage at 8PM while the Mush artists peform from 9PM. Last year's show was completely full by 10PM. We have some excellent acts playing early in the night and the FREE CD promotion will go quickly, so please plan on getting there for the start of the show.

 
Mush Records SXSW 2007 Showcase03/2007Mush Records will once again be taking over Austin, Texas' Zero Degrees on March 16, 2007 for our SXSW Showcase. This year's lineup of electronic and hip-hop acts will also feature some friends of the label and some surprise guests. Also, check out XLR8R's preview of Daedelus' performance in their "SXSW Artist Preview" section. Special thanks to Patrick Keeler for the poster design. Her Space Holiday Meets Bill Moyers03/2007The Album Leaf Remix of Her Space Holiday's track "The Young Machines" has been licensed for Bill Moyers' documentary "Buying The War" which will air on PBS. In addition, the song will be used in the broadcast commercials. It's not often that you get to license music to such important causes as this, so please, check out the program when it airs.
Antimc Featured On Subba-Cultcha03/2007Antimc's huge press push has gained monmentum crossing the waters to Europe, with the impending release of his album, aptly titled, across the Atlantic later this month. The English music website Subba Cultcha has interviewed him for an insightful profile about recording his debut solo album, his fears, and travelling at the speed of light
Busdriver And Antimc Support Rjd203/2007Busdriver has been asked to support Rjd2 for the first two legs of his three legged, United States tour. As a gesture of kind, he is taking Antimc along as accompanist, not to mention placing Antimc's name on all of the bills. If you missed Bus with Caural on the Deerhoof tour, here's another chance to catch him; if you did see him in March, hopefully you've had a chance to rest for this time around. We've posted the 20+ dates that make up both legs of the tour on the shows page.

Fisk Industries Music On Mush02/2007Mush and the excellent UK label, Highpoint Lowlife, have teamed up to compile all of the available music from electronic maestro Fisk Industries for retrospective release. The aptly titled EPs and Rarities combines the ten-inch releases, The Isle Of Wight EP (2003) and 77 And Rising (2006) with a massive amount of rare material he's released in compilation or digital format between 2003-2006. The release will be a great way to catch up on an exciting artist.
Qua And Loden To Be Released In USA02/2007Mush will be introducing two new artists to the US this spring, previously their releases have been solely available outside of the US.
Qua, an immensely talented sound designer and multimedia artist from Australia, will see the domestic release of his two full-lengths, 2002's Forgetabout and 2004's Painting Monsters On Clouds. Mush will be teaming up with Australia's influential Surgery Records for the re-release.
While Loden's 12 track debut, Valeen Hope, and six-track EP, All That's Left Is Right will also be available in US stores for the first time. Loden's warmly layered electronic productions, reminiscent of M83 or Air's earlier work, are sure to hit home with the American audience.
Boy In Static Makes A Video02/2007Boy In Static recently collaborated with Yoshi Sodeoka of C505 to create a video for his track "Where It Ends." The aim was to capture the look and feel of an early '90s space rock video, and they succeeded brilliantly.
