Lulu Mushi's debut release, Oval Compositions, contains five tracks including the Latin percussion free-for-all "Blue Sonoko," the somber piano hip-hop instrumental "Camden," and the jazz from the darkside masterwork "Moon Funk." The release has received attention both in the US and abroad. Tracks from Oval Compositions were chosen as "Jazz Pick of the Week" on Jeannie Hopper's New York radio show, Liquid Sound Lounge, "Dancefloor Funky Groove of the Month" at the Cooker (Leeds), "Single of the Year" from Paulo Fonseca (Radio Nova, Portugal), and "Electronic Samba of the Year" by the Acid Jazz Press. The track "Blue Sonoko" has been licensed by Compost Records for Volume 5 of the highly respected compilation series Future Sound of Jazz. Oval Compositions is deep, beautiful, quirky, and pure Lulu.
