Dax Pierson Benefit Shows | | 04/2005 | Our good friend Dax Pierson (of Subtle, Themselves, and 13 & God) was in a serious van accident while on tour with Subtle earlier this year. He shattered his C5 vertebrae, which is located at the base of his neck, and is currently experiencing paralysis from his nipple line down. Thankfully, the other members of Subtle escaped with only minor injuries. Although Dax's hospital stay is covered with health insurace, much of his long term recovery and care is not. A number of artists and record labels are holding benefit shows to help with Dax's family's financial burden. Mush artists Busdriver and Radioinactive will join Subtle, Damon Aaron, and The One AM Radio for a benefit show at The Knitting Factory in Los Angeles on May 2nd. There will be additional benefit shows in Brooklyn, Chicago, London, and San Francisco with performances by DJ Signify, El-P, Four Tet, Hood, Matmos, Jel, Alias, and many more. Support for these shows come from Anticon, Lex, Warp, Rhymesayers, Definitive Jux, Biz3, and Mush. Additional cities, shows, and acts are still being added.
