With a unique blend of intelligence and street smarts, Listener is an MC capable of creating authentic tracks that capture the best of the styles most often attributed to both independent hip-hop and rock. His early recordings with Deepspace5 on Uprok/EMI and his self-released Labklik and Listener Project work have enabled Listener to reach a point in his career where he is as comfortable building a story of meaning as he is with traditional hip-hop wordplay. His groundbreaking tour of homes saw him play over 70 living rooms to, literally, sold out houses around the US. He favors either the dark, whether it be a blend of hip-hop production built on dusty samples and hard hitting drums, or a composition of distorted guitars and growling bass lines that allow his ease with the microphone, and lyrics that often touch on spirituality, to shine through. Now establishing himself as a capable front-man, Listener has shown that he has the talent and work ethic to become a prominent member of the independent music society worldwide, no matter the genre or creed.
