Está Vivo is the brainchild of Chicago native Ryan McMahon's explorations in smart indie bedroom pop. Translated as "Is Alive" the moniker perfectly captures the undeniable vitality of the project. The contrast of woozy baritone vocals with swirling mixes of pianos, guitars, xylophones, and percussion is arresting. Using everything and anything as an influence, Está Vivo's productions effortlessly range from folk to tropicália to driving electronic tinted indie-pop. After slowly churning out dreamy pop tracks and eps throughout 20011 and 2012, and opening for a number of notable act's Chicago shows including Justice, Bloody Beetroots, and Yelle, Está Vivo debuted on Mush Records with the EPs, Carry You To My Mouth and How Strange in 2013. Está Vivo distinctive songwriting and production is unattached, open, and free-spirited.
