| Bibio is best described as Brian Eno dressed like an Ewok alone in the wilderness of the future. Also, he’s drunk on dandelion wine. Too outré? Okay, let me try again... Vignetting the Compost is a wonder to listen to: ethereal songs (or, if you prefer, soundscapes) unbounded by rules. It’s an album that you could put on while you’re painting your house and think you haven’t heard the same thing twice before you realize that you’re stoned off of the fumes and you’ve painted it thrice. “Under the Pier” is a treat for anyone who misses the ocean. “Weekend Wildfire” effortlessly meshes the sounds of trees and wind with acoustic guitars. If ever you feel the urge to run off into the trees because society is driving you mad, listen to Vignetting the Compost first, then make your decision. - See |
