Open Mike Eagle's Art Rap After Party is getting an amazing response from press and fans (if you haven't already grabbed it, it's being given away for free for a short time through the LA Times). In celebration, Mike has chopped off the dreads, and captured it all in a music video for the track "Haircut" that's filmed in a style inspired by the look of early 90s late night public access video shows. We are elated to report that Mush will be releasing the full-length debut from Chicago's own band, A Lull. Their gorgeous album, Confetti, and a remix EP for the lead single, "Weapons For War" will come out this spring. We are also thrilled to announce that the album and EP are being licensed by the label Something In Construction (home to Memory Tapes among other great acts) for a simultaneous release in Europe. A Lull joins the Mush roster after releasing the widely loved EP, Ice Cream Bones on Lujo Records and a 7" on their own, as well as embarking on touring adventures (up to and including getting struck by lightning) that have helped them perfect a mellifluous live act (to see what we mean check this performance at a Chicago area show earlier this year). Suffering from an aneurysm in 2004, Andre Afram Asmar underwent an intense half-decade of physical therapy on the road to recovery. Despite his health setbacks, Asmar remained determind to complete his epic, Harmonic Emergency - an album originally architected in sessions between 2001-2004. We could not be more proud that his album has now been delivered, with a January 2011 scheduled release date. This album is one of the greats.

Open Mike Eagle is touring up and down California with Blockhead, Nocando and Signal Path. In addition to that he's playing a date in LA with the infamous Asssscat improv group at the Upright Citizens Brigade theater. Come see him perform and interact with the improv actors.
