All the details have been ironed out, the album has been mixed, and K-The-I???'s Mush Records debut, Broken Love Letter has been handed in. For those who don't know him yet, K-The-I??? is a Cambridge, MA based emcee who has been making noise on the East Coast for some time now, most recently with his work on the latest NMS record (with Bigg Jus and Orko Eloheem). His latest album, Broken Love Letter, is a hip-hop breakup record, full of thick production and brilliant lyrics. Look for Broken Love Letter to be in stores mid-fall. She also spoke with Nobody & Mystic Chords of Memory about their album, Tree Colored See, and the upcoming Devendra Banhart curated Hypnorituals and Mesmemusical Miracles… festival at the El Cid. Nobody & Mystic Chords of Memory have been receiving some great press in Southern California. They have been featured in the Los Angeles Times' Buzz Bands column, written by Kevin Bronson. The feature includes some background on the recording of Tree Colored See, and is a great precursor to their performance at the Hypnorituals... Festival at the El Cid.
So... It's been a while since we've done a Mush Records picture disc, and the timing just felt right. Clue to Kalo has been successfully building a following in Australia and the United States with amazing live shows and consistently great music. Featuring four songs of brilliant Clue to Kalo songcraft that delves further into the folk ethers explored on One Way, It's Every Way, including his cover of the Beatle's "Mother Nature's Son" from the BBC White Album Tribute, and art by Martin Ernstsen. Look for this picture disc, entitled Man Who Took a Step Expecting a Stair, But Instead Got Level Ground, in stores come late-fall.
Nobody & Mystic Chords of Memory have been asked to play the Devendra Banhart curated festival Hypnorituals and Mesmemusical Miracles Hanging in the Sky: 5 Nights of Soleros and Bandoleros at El Cid!!!!!!! to be held over four days at Los Angeles' El Cid night club. They will be headlining the third night, July 20, sharing the evening with Subtitle, Mountain Party and others. Names announced so far for the festival, which runs July 18-21, include Jana Hunter, Sir Richard Bishop of the Sun City Girls, and Coconut Scarcity of Tanks Hecuba. All pertinent information for the live gig has been added.
Bibio's track "Bewley in Grey" from his debut, fi, has been licensed by L.L. Bean for their new advertising campaign. The spot looks great, and the use of the track is perfect. Be sure to take a look and a listen!

As a welcome home, they'll be playing a fantastic slate of gigs, supporting Death Cab for Cutie for two dates, as well as two gigs with the Dirty Three, and a show with Mates of State.
We are excited to announce that Thavius Beck has delivered the follow up to Decomposition, called Thru. This album sees him working with Saul Williams, 2Mex, Mia Doi Todd, and newcomer Nocando. Be on the lookout for the album this fall.
Busdriver and Modern Fix's Jeremiah Griffey recently spoke at length about Bus' career arc and the forces that shape his music, from big-money contracts and the recent faltering of underground hip-hop to hippies and race politics in music. The result is an interesting profile of one of hip-hop's more eloquent voices.

The masters for the latest full-length from Caural, entitled Mirrors for Eyes, have been finalised. The album, which features guests Hrishikesh Hirway, Racecar (of the group Modill), Paul Amitai, and Jocob Croegaert on guest vocals, finds Caural in rare form, becoming bolder and bolder with each succcessive release. The album will be released in October of this year.

After missing their live set at the Echo, the Ice Cream Man finally caught a Clue to Kalo set, this time opening for the Greenhornes at the Troubadour (a show that also featured Anaheim, CA's The Willowz). Captured were some fantastic photos alongside some glowing praise.
Clue to Kalo will be doing a free instore performance at the San Francisco Amoeba at 6PM on May 24th (the night after their performance with Architecture in Helsinki). If you are in the Bay area, please stop by to say hello to the band and check out the show.

Curse ov Dialect have sent over the master for their latest album, to be titled Wooden Tongues. For fans of their American debut, the latest is an even more streamlined album of cuts dealing with the social and political issues touched on in their earlier work. Once again, the album will be released in Australia through Valve Records.

Mush Records is happy to announce our first ever SXSW showcase! It will take place Thursday, March 16 at Zero Degrees on 405 E 7th St. in Austin, and runs from 10pm to 1am. We've added detailed information to our shows page.
Caural has been featured once again in Japan's Remix Magazine. He has also been profiled in the style section of Nylon magazine. The articles are both in Japanese and cover with the Japanese release of Remembering Today on P-Vine.
The Los Angeles Times Magazine has been rechristened, and is now called West Magazine. The first issue contains a feature on Busdriver, finding him at his most dapper as he discusses the indie hip-hop scene in Los Angeles with Jessica Gelt.
